Kids are Growing up!

Look at my children- They are growing like weeds and a lawnmower will not stop them! We experienced a couple of "firsts" in the life of growing teenagers today. Forrest received his first paycheck from his first job outside of the home. He is working with a good friend who owns a construction business and he worked two days last week and earned $104.00. I had to document the hundred dollar bill, because you know it will not last long! He's not afraid to get down and dirty and sweaty. He told his boss yesterday while they were building a back deck/overhang, "This is fun!" We are so proud of our son! Sadie's is a little bit more girly-girl than a paycheck. Today marked the first day she shaved her legs! I told her I was in the 6th grade when I did and I guess she wanted to continue the tradition! Last night, George and I were sitting on the couch with our legs on top of each others and Sadie came and sat down beside me and put her hand on what she thought was my leg and quickly pulled back and said, "You need to shave your legs!". I busted out laughing because it was George's leg she had her hand on! You know I'm a true scrapbooker if I'm documenting my daughter's first shave! In three weeks, Forrest will begin his high school years (and early morning seminary) and Sadie will begin her middle school years. My babies are not little babies anymore. Where did the time go? I bet my parents are saying the same thing. They're quickly on their journey to become grown-ups, but they'll always be my babies!

Wow....i knew they were getting older but when you said "high school and middle school" i was shocked!! i can't believe that! I found some pics of Fo when he was a baby and your comments about him for so funny! I will have to show them to you when you come this week! You just kept saying how beautiful Fo was! I remember how Sadie would take my breath away. She was just so perfect as a baby....even with her Daddy's nose! I am so glad I got to know your great kids before mine came along. Now of course....Sophia and Nate have taken over the "cutest baby" award but yours will always be a close 2nd!

Hi Trudy, I guess you must have changed your blog address, cause I checked the blog I had for you last night & you hadn't posted since March!! It was fun to read your entries & look at your oh so creative scrapbook pages! Wow, you blow my mind!
It IS hard to believe our boys are starting high school. Just crazy! Ryan was talking to me last night about cutting the lawn to help pay for his mission. I'll have to write a blog about it. It was pretty funny. I've been quite busy with planning Jordan's wedding. Thanks for your comment on my blog.
I sure wish you and MaryKate could come to Utah for her wedding like you did for Natalie. That is a fun memory for us...and you :)

They are growing up so quickly! I wanted to tell you that Forest earned his first hundred working at my house. Jared was putting up a deck cover for me this week. I heard that Forest got to pull my weeds while he waited for materials. I can't wait to get home and see all that they have done. :)

I am having a great time. I love Palmyra so you will have to go. The pageant is fun but I hate the crowds at the other places. I prefer to go when no one is there in the fall. I love church history sites!

I think I shaved my legs the first time when I was 13 yrs.old. Sadie will have to do it for many years now! What did Forrest get with his money? Are you going to have him put some into his mission fund? I think it would make him more aware of the fact that he is planning on going if he adds to the savings.

Hi Trudy, That is exciting that you are coming to LG tomorrow. I will be going out near Mary Kate's at noon. What time do you expect to be there? I can bring Ryan over there for a while, then maybe Forrest can come back here?

Gosh, I can't believe F & S are already in middle and high school! I remember coming over with Mom when she was your VT and F just being a little baby. Crazy! Poor S, I hate shaving, but remember when it was fun. I'm having laser hair removal at the end of this month so no more shaving for me, woohoo!!!

I'm right there along with Mary - Forrest evidently helped Daniel work in my flower beds while we were on vacation - they re-mulched, trimmed back all my shrubbery and even dug up a huge weed of a tree! Good job - and good luck getting him to seminary. I'm a teacher now!

Just wait until you start getting college brochures in the mail with your child's name on them... that will make you feel older than dirt!
